Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician

Emory Healthcare is seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Emory Decatur Hospital.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a certified technician who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and ensuring the safety of our patients. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for the reprocessing of surgical instruments and sets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides on-site support for the reprocessing of surgical instruments and sets, adhering to Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN standards.
  • Supports daily operations of all activities related to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation, including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes.
  • Communicates effectively with hospital staff and company employees, promoting a positive and professional image of IMS and the profession.
  • Reports broken instrumentation and equipment, and communicates low par levels of SPD consumable supplies.
  • Exhibits professional behavior in all personal, telephone, and electronic communications.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Completion of a Sterile Processing/Surgical Technologist program, preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and aptitude required.
  • Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or IAHCSMM, or two years of experience in lieu of certification.
  • Extensive knowledge of instrumentation.
