Position: Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Specialist

Department: Information Security

Reports to: Director of Information Security

FLSA Status: Exempt Regular Full-Time

Role Overview:

The Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Specialist is tasked with the creation, upkeep, and evaluation of the organization's continuity and recovery strategies. This role is crucial in ensuring that Trulieve can swiftly resume essential operations following any disruption or crisis. Additionally, the Specialist will provide training and support to staff and stakeholders regarding best practices in continuity and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies in line with organizational goals and standards.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and impact analyses to pinpoint potential threats to critical operations.
  • Design and implement strategies to mitigate risks and establish contingency plans.
  • Organize and execute regular testing and drills to ensure preparedness and effectiveness of continuity plans.
  • Monitor compliance and performance of continuity and recovery processes.
  • Deliver training programs to enhance awareness of roles and responsibilities related to continuity and recovery.
  • Assist incident management teams during crises to facilitate recovery efforts.
  • Evaluate feedback from drills and incidents to recommend enhancements to continuity strategies.

Additional Duties:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of continuity and recovery policies and procedures.
  • Identify and prioritize recovery objectives for critical operations.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of continuity drills and evaluations.
  • Stay informed about emerging risks that could impact continuity strategies.
  • Provide ongoing training to ensure staff are well-versed in continuity protocols.
  • Review outcomes from drills and incidents to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, risk management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in continuity and recovery planning.
  • Familiarity with continuity and recovery standards such as ISO 22301 and NIST SP 800-34.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Certifications (Optional):

  • Relevant certifications in continuity and recovery, such as CBCP or ISO 22301, are advantageous.

Work Schedule:

  • 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours based on departmental needs.
