About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Remediation Geologist to join our team at WSP. As a Remediation Geologist, you will be responsible for performing business development within the Oil & Gas and Industrial/Commercial Sectors for environmental remediation, engineering, and related services.

You will also be responsible for overseeing, mentoring, and directing the efforts of staff- and project-level geologists and scientists. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of technical reports and proposals, and successfully interact with Local Business Leaders, Office Managers, Sector Leads, and other Senior-level employees in the office and firm-wide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform business development within the Oil & Gas and Industrial/Commercial Sectors for environmental remediation, engineering, and related services
  • Oversee, mentor, and direct the efforts of staff- and project-level geologists and scientists
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and proposals
  • Successfully interact with Local Business Leaders, Office Managers, Sector Leads, and other Senior-level employees in the office and firm-wide
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring deliverables, schedules, and budgets are achieved
  • Travel to project sites as needed for the execution of project goals and business development
  • Meet sales, revenue, and delivery goals

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Geology, Geoscience, or related science field
  • 5-7 years related environmental remediation and sales experience
  • Strong work ethic
  • Self-starter, team-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with, mentor, and direct engineers and technicians
  • Candidate should have experience with CERCLA, RCRA, DTSC, Water Board, and other CalEPA Programs
  • Must have consulting experience with petroleum contamination cleanups in soil and groundwater, including free-floating products (LNAPL) and/or chlorinated solvent contamination consulting experience for remediation of soil and groundwater
  • Must have consulting experience in soil gas and vapor intrusion issues
  • Developing and managing complex environmental remediation projects
  • Oversee remediation construction and operation and maintenance of environmental project work
  • Must pass physical, background check, and have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (Motor Vehicle Safety) policy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Essential professional licensure/certification
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR)
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training

Compensation:

Expected Salary (California): $85,000-$125,290

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
