Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement an annual audit plan to monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Conduct thorough audits of coding, billing, and medical record documentation to identify errors, fraud, waste, and abuse.
- Collaborate with the Chief Compliance/HIPAA Officer to develop and implement corrective actions to address audit findings.
- Review and evaluate internal control structures to ensure they are adequate to prevent and detect errors, fraud, waste, and abuse.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Certification from AAPC or AHIMA as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Professional Medical Record Auditor (CMPA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is required.
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS coding classifications is required.
