Position Overview:

The Warehouse Receiving Lead plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Receiving Warehouse team, ensuring that all products undergo thorough inspection, inventory verification against purchase orders, sorting, and acceptance in alignment with vendor and company standards. This position is crucial as it guarantees that all received products meet high-quality benchmarks and comply with purchase agreements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold company values including quality, service, teamwork, respect, innovation, and safety.
  • Efficiently navigate company software with minimal assistance to manage daily operations effectively.
  • Oversee all facets of the receiving department personnel, including but not limited to:
    • Scheduling and time management
    • Training initiatives
    • Progressive disciplinary actions
    • Performance evaluations
  • Supervise receiving staff on all incoming products to confirm inventory accuracy, quality, and adherence to purchase order terms.
  • Prioritize inbound shipments to optimize workflow and floor management.
  • Ensure that all scheduled purchase order deliveries are accurately received and documented.
  • Verify that all inter-company Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) are scanned and processed within the system.
  • Conduct quarterly one-on-one meetings with direct reports to share objectives, enhance productivity, and boost employee engagement.
  • Communicate any discrepancies to the respective buyer or regional planner effectively.
  • Complete all receiving documentation in accordance with the respective products arriving, including but not limited to temperature, BRIX, sizing, and date capturing.
  • Label items as necessary to manage rotation based on quality upon arrival.
  • Accurately finalize receiving reports, including photographs as required.
  • Confidently operate equipment to load and unload trucks at dock doors.
  • Disassemble and categorize mixed pallets for efficient receiving processes.
  • Utilize equipment to transport products from the loading dock to designated aisles in coolers as necessary.
  • Assist with additional projects or tasks as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to formulate strategic plans and procedures aimed at enhancing warehouse efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong awareness of food safety and workplace safety, coupled with a robust work ethic.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Proficient in data entry and inventory management software and systems.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a receiving role within a warehouse environment.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Familiarity with warehouse software solutions and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment such as stand-up forklifts and rider jacks.
  • Thorough understanding of all industry-specific business functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to multitask and work independently while contributing to the team's overall success.
  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operational activities.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in office suite software including Teams, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems such as High Jump and Load Management.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs and maintain an active stance for extended periods without accommodation.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.
  • Comfortable operating in a refrigerated or freezer warehouse environment.
