Christus Health is seeking a skilled Perinatal Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Labor and Delivery unit, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities- Provide routine and complex care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness, and documenting patient history, symptoms, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty, preferably in a Perinatal setting.
- Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a Perinatal setting is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- RN License in the state of employment or compact.
- BLS certification required.
- Current certification from NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or AWHONN courses, as applicable.
- Current ACLS certification, as applicable.
- Current NRP certification, as applicable.
