About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner II to join our Hematology/Oncology team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with various types of cancer, including hematologic malignancies and solid tumors.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient preferences and needs
  • Conduct thorough assessments, including physical exams, laboratory results, and medical histories
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies and laboratory tests
  • Prescribe medications and treatments, as appropriate
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, addressing concerns and answering questions
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Nurse Practitioner education
  • Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license
  • Current, active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license
  • Current, active, unrestricted Furnishing license and DEA registration
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • NP National Board Certification (e.g., FNP-BC, AGPCNP-BC)
  • Current BLS certification and ACLS certification
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification (ACONP) and/or ONS Chemotherapy Certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in hematology/oncology nursing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Infusion Center experience
  • Experience caring for patients enrolled in clinical trials and functioning as a sub-investigator
