Substation Design Engineer

POWER Engineers is seeking a skilled Substation Design Engineer to join our Power Delivery Substation Department in San Diego, California. This role offers flexibility to work remotely and/or in the office, with occasional travel required.
Responsibilities- Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations
- Develop one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, and select substation equipment
- Write substation equipment specifications, develop proposals, estimate construction costs, and schedule projects
- Collaborate with internal team members and external client personnel to ensure effective project execution
- BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree from an accredited university with a power option
- Experience in 15kV through 230kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards
- Ability to manage small project teams and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
- Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
- Five (5) or more years experience in utility substation design
- Experience in 345kV through 500kV substation design
- Professional Engineering license (PE)
- Managerial and leadership skills

Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $93,000
