We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Neurology Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our neurology services.
Key Responsibilities- Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations to assess patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
- Performs daily patient rounds to monitor patient progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment.
- Interprets laboratory and test results to inform treatment decisions and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure seamless and high-quality patient care.
- Upon discharge, notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and any referrals on patient charts to ensure continuity of care.
- Informs patients of necessary post-discharge care instructions to promote healthy outcomes and prevent readmissions.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, required.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, required.
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York State, required.
- Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants, required.
- Current BLS certification, required.
- Or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Master's Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program and National Board Certification in specialty area required.
- Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State, and current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, required.
- Has a collaborative practice agreement with designated protocols filed with NYS Department of Education OR collaborative relationship attestation as per the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act 2015.
- Current BLS certification, required.
