Overview:

The Nursing Assistant role is crucial in delivering essential custodial and personal care services to clients associated with Assisting Hands. This position operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), adhering to the established Plan of Care.

Key Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory
  • Active Nursing Assistant Certification from the Board of Nursing in good standing
  • Completion of formal training and certification as a Nursing Assistant in accordance with state regulations
  • Preferred experience of at least one (1) year in a home or long-term care environment
Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy living environment for clients by performing light cleaning, organizing living spaces, and other safety-related tasks
  • Carry out personal care tasks as specified in the Plan of Care, which includes assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, eating, and more
  • Provide necessary nutritional assistance
  • Monitor and report any changes in the client's health status
  • Assist clients with mobility aids and prescribed exercises
  • Educate family members on household routines
  • Track and measure fluid intake and output
  • Record vital signs and relevant health information
  • Support clients in self-administering medication and maintain accurate records
  • Follow infection control protocols and agency policies
