Surgical Nursing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Nursing Specialist to join our team at Williamson Health. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating surgical patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
About the RoleThe Registered Nurse Circulator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical units. Your primary responsibility will be to create and maintain a sterile field by utilizing principles of aseptic practice in various situations. You will also be responsible for anticipating and providing equipment and supplies in a timely manner based on the needs of patients and surgeons.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients using skills of observation, communication, and examination.
- Develop age-specific plans of care for each patient identifying problems/needs and communicating nursing plans to healthcare teams.
- Anticipate and provide safe anatomical positioning based on the needs of patients and surgeons in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Monitor and control OR Suite environments (temperature, humidity, and sensory) maintain traffic patterns, and adhere to OR sanitation policies.
- Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
- Must respond to hospital within thirty minutes for "on call" requirements.
- Previous Surgery experience.
- BLS within 90 days of hire.
