Intake Specialist

United Counseling Services is seeking a highly skilled Intake Specialist to join our team. As an Intake Specialist, you will be the initial point of contact for individuals requesting services, responsible for gathering vital information, completing the admissions process, and aligning individuals with the appropriate clinical services.
Key Responsibilities- Answer and screen inquiry calls and emails from prospective clients, documenting all interactions in a professional and courteous manner.
- Respect client dignity and confidentiality, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
- Complete the intake process for new clients efficiently and in accordance with agency processes and protocols.
- Obtain pertinent information from new clients by conducting interviews, ensuring all necessary data is collected and documented accurately.
- Collect demographic and financial information, complete all appropriate consents and disclosures, and conduct the Initial Risk Screening.
- Collect insurance information and ensure it aligns with our providers' credentials.
- Ensure all admission forms are properly signed and documented in the agency's Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate with administrative and clinical staff to ensure individuals receive Same Day Access to services.
- Align individuals with the appropriate service, including FAST, MAT, Emergency Services, FES, and other relevant programs.
- Refer individuals to internal and external resources, including the Early Childhood Services Division.
- Collaborate with clinical teams, including Case Managers, Clinicians, Crisis Teams, and Clinical Directors, to assist individuals in accessing medical, social, educational resources, and other services within our agency and community.
- Refer individuals to private therapists in the area for those who do not have health insurance that aligns with our providers' credentials and those that are outside of our catchment area.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field preferred, or 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Behavioral Healthcare, Customer Service, or Administrative Support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Record systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and quality principles.
- Ability to travel to agency facilities and attend meetings and trainings as needed.
