Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Portfolio Manager to join our team at Midland States Bank. As a key member of our Commercial Lending team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial clients and loans, identifying credit risks, and making sound credit decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of commercial clients and loans, ensuring timely and accurate credit decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, providing exceptional customer service and identifying opportunities for cross-selling.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Relationship Managers and Market Presidents to cultivate existing client relationships and expand the commercial loan portfolio.
  • Analyze credits and identify credit risks, preparing loans for presentation to the loan committee.
  • Oversee the routine maintenance and management of the subject portfolio, including financial reporting and loan reviews.
  • Represent the bank in civic and related activities, promoting the bank's image and values.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting.
  • 3-6 years of related experience in commercial lending or a related field.
  • Successful completion of bank training specific to the position.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and knowledge of commercial loan requirements and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate with clients and present information to groups of managers, clients, and customers.
