Job Summary and Qualifications

The New Grad RN Residency Program at Summerville Medical Center provides an opportunity for recent nursing graduates to transition into a professional nursing role. This paid program offers advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training, and mentoring from experienced nurse leaders.

Candidates should possess a strong foundation in nursing principles, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

As a RN Resident, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering individualized patient care, working collaboratively with medical providers and other members of the care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing Patient Condition: Conduct thorough assessments of patients during admission and throughout their stay, identifying changes in condition and reporting them to medical providers.
  • Performing Procedures and Monitoring: Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient responses as ordered by medical providers.
  • Documenting Care: Accurately document patient care in the medical record, including treatment plans, medication administration, and patient education.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: Associate degree in nursing may also be considered
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLs) Certification: within 30 days of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification: within one year of employment
  • Registered Nurse License: in the state of practice
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
