Job Description and Duties

This position is located in Auburn, California, and is closely monitored by the Department of Rehabilitation to ensure a safe work environment.

Under the close supervision of a Staff Services Manager I and with direction from rehabilitation counselors, a Student Assistant performs the following duties:

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in collecting and disseminating information necessary for consumers/SVRC-QRP's in developing well thought out vocational plans.
  • Prepare job readiness and job placement action plans.
  • Analyze and evaluate data, prepare recommendations, reports or correspondence, conduct interviews, and complete electronic case notes.
  • Ensure that applicants and consumers obtain needed services in a timely manner.
  • Provide a variety of follow-up services as directed by the Staff Services Manager I or Counselor.
  • Keep necessary case records and perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.
Working Conditions

Seasonal Clerks, Student Assistants, and Graduate Student Assistants are not allowed to work more than 1500 hours in a calendar year.

The anticipated time worked will be 20-35 hours per week.

Special Requirements

Applicants must be registered as a student in a college or university of recognized standing.
