Job Summary

This position is located in the Department of Rehabilitation, where you will work under the close supervision of a Staff Services Manager I and with direction from rehabilitation counselors. As a Student Assistant, you will assist in collecting and disseminating information necessary for consumers/SVRC-QRP's in developing well thought out vocational plans, as well as, preparing job readiness and job placement action plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing and evaluating data, preparing recommendations, reports or correspondence, conducting interviews and completing electronic case notes.
  • Ensure that applicants and consumers obtain needed services in a timely manner.
  • Provide a variety of follow-up services as directed by the Staff Services Manager I or Counselor.
  • Keep necessary case records and perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.
  • Assist the Rehabilitation Counselor in building productive community relations and may assist in conducting presentations and orientation sessions.

Working Conditions

Seasonal Clerks, Student Assistants, and Graduate Student Assistants are not allowed to work more than 1500 hours in a calendar year. The anticipated time worked will be 20-35 hours per week. If selected, the employee will receive an hourly compensation based on the number of hours worked.
