Job Title: IT Financial Software Applications Developer

Job Summary:

The IT Financial Software Applications Developer is a key member of our team, responsible for planning and developing Holland & Knight software applications that support our Finance processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients and/or internal teams to understand user needs and draft initial proposals and designs for software applications.
  • Assess the feasibility of designs and project parameters within time and cost constraints.
  • Analyze user needs and design software applications for client use.
  • Develop code and design software applications based on user specifications.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors or improve performance.
  • Monitor and assist with software testing and validation procedures and programming.
  • Monitor and assist with software installation and ensure application operates within established specifications.
  • Gather and evaluate user feedback and modify software for better usability.
  • Design, create, and maintain SQL databases and procedures for specific application areas.
  • Determine required system performance standards and hardware configurations based on client specifications, budget, security needs, and other parameters.
  • Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems to support required applications.
  • Advise clients on software maintenance.
  • Special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer or engineer.
  • Proficient in C#, with a good knowledge of the.NET ecosystem, including ASP.NET and Entity Framework.
  • Experience with HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of MS SQL Server, proficient with T-SQL or other SQL dialects.
  • Exposure to SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or equivalent technology and proficient with programming stored procedures using TSQL.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and various design and architectural patterns.
  • Understanding of fundamental database schema design principles.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Git).
  • Results-driven, with a history of producing results.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities required to prioritize a high volume of tasks or competing priorities.
  • Dedicated to providing service beyond expectation.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize and deliver creative solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each.
  • Experience in a technical role in a law firm or professional services firm is ideal but not required.
