Food Service Worker

About this Opportunity:
Serve as a substitute food service worker across District schools, preparing and serving school meals in accordance with food and safety standards.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of a variety of foods in accordance with food and safety standards.
- Wash, cut, cook and or re-heat food items, weighing and measuring ingredients, according to recipes and instructions.
- Set up serving lines and serve meal or meal components.
- Communicate with students and school staff when serving food items.
- Operate the cash register, accepting money and making change for food and beverages served.
- Clean and sanitize dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment and facilities in accordance with approved housekeeping and safety practices and guidelines; perform related kitchen and facility related duties (e.g., laundry, general cleaning).
- Operate kitchen equipment.
- Stock and organize food related items and kitchen supplies in refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, and store rooms; store food and supplies in accordance with instructions and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).
- Follow approved housekeeping and safety practices to ensure that safe conditions are maintained in the kitchen, food-serving areas and in dining.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
