Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic patient care skills and follow infection control practices
  • Assist in setting up equipment for procedures and provide direct patient care in trauma/emergency situations
  • Have knowledge and direct experience with orthopedic injuries and splint placement
  • Assist nurses in transporting patients, assisting patients with ADL, collecting specimens, performing EKGs and finger stick blood sugar checks
Requirements
  • Knowledge of suturing and suture removal, dressing application, and splinting
  • Skills in CPR and EKGs, BLS required
  • Ability to assist nursing staff with routine patient care and function effectively as a team member
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and perform as a professional staff support to physicians and nurses
