Job Title: Patient Service Coordinator, Neonatal ICU

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Coordinator to join our team at the University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park, Illinois.

Job Summary:

The Patient Service Coordinator will provide high-volume customer service and clerical support to coordinate and facilitate patient care within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to interact with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate perioperative services appointments
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families
  • Assist with patient care coordination and facilitation
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • At least one year of general office experience, preferably in a medical/clinical setting
  • Good written and verbal communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to learn applicable software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate Business courses preferred
  • Medical terminology preferred
Work Environment:

This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) position with rotating shifts, 7a-7p or 7p-7a. The unit is the NICU, and the CBA Code is 743 Union.
