POSITION OVERVIEW

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is looking for a dedicated individual to fill the role of Custodial Worker 1 within the Department of General Services. This position is essential for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring that workspaces, restrooms, and communal areas are kept in pristine condition.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Custodial Worker 1 will undertake a range of vital tasks, relying on attention to detail to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and restocking restroom supplies to ensure availability.
  • Reporting maintenance issues such as malfunctioning lights, plumbing problems, or other irregularities to supervisors.
  • Performing thorough cleaning and sanitization of restroom areas, including fixtures and furnishings.
  • Conducting general cleaning duties in office spaces, including dusting and polishing furniture and equipment.
  • Utilizing commercial cleaning equipment, such as scrub machines, to maintain floor surfaces.

Additionally, the role involves moving furniture and materials using pallet jacks and dollies, as well as participating in snow and ice removal efforts to ensure safe access to building entrances and pathways.


WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Full-time position with a schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Essential personnel required to report during emergencies.
  • Salary may be non-negotiable based on specific circumstances.
