Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Coordinator to join our team at Orthopaedic Specialty Group, P.C.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care for all surgical patients, ensuring seamless scheduling and management of surgical calendars.
  • Maintain and manage physician schedules, scheduling patient appointments, tests, surgeries, and procedures.
  • Liaise with hospitals and surgery centers to schedule cases and notify changes, as well as coordinate with vendors to order equipment.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility for procedures and manage hospital block time.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other stakeholders, responding to phone calls, voicemails, and EMR system flags.
  • Prepare correspondence, ensure diagnostic testing and documentation are ordered and sent to relevant parties, and enter global period dates after procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; prior healthcare experience required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as an administrative assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
