Position Summary:
The Fixed Asset Accountant plays a crucial role within the Finance Department, engaging in comprehensive financial analysis and contributing to the preparation of precise financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end account analysis, including the preparation of relevant journal entries.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and evaluate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports to illustrate operational performance.
- Assist in the daily cash transactions process, bridging Treasury and Accounting.
- Support the Accounts Receivable payment application process.
- Identify and document policies in key areas of responsibility.
- Maintain a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Prepare required Government Reports periodically.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Ensure personal and team safety in the workplace, including employees, vendors, and guests.
- Provide visible leadership and maintain awareness of safety protocols.
- Avoid shortcuts or unnecessary risks, actively promoting a culture of safety.
Additional Functions:
- Record fixed asset transactions in the sub-ledger, including transfers, retirements, and additions.
- Reconcile or review assigned general ledger accounts monthly.
- Analyze Construction in Progress (CIP) accounts and manage related projects.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis.
- Support capital expenditure transactions for monthly reporting.
- Update documentation as necessary to reflect policies in key areas of responsibility.
- Prepare ad hoc reports as required.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is essential.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while meeting goals.
- Proficient in operating a 10-key by touch and typing at least 40 WPM.
- Strong PC skills, particularly in MS Office, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Oracle, Hyperion HFM, or other ERP systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of GAAP is essential.
- Proficient in data upload processes.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with staff, management, customers, and vendors.
- Strong reasoning skills and the ability to follow directions are required.
Work Environment:
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data effectively.
- Capacity to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions in compliance with company policies.
