Job Title: Pediatric Nurse

Job Summary:

The Pediatric Nurse will provide high-quality patient care to infants, children, and adolescents in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans for pediatric patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest pediatric nursing practices, research, and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure in New York State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • WHO 20-hour Breastfeeding Course or equivalent training.
  • Pediatric Care After Resuscitation (PCAR) certification (preferred).
  • Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) certification (preferred).
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification (preferred).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, if necessary, to assist with patient care.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, walk, and move quickly in response to patient needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
