Deputy Director

The San Diego State University Research Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Deputy Director of the Prevention Research Center (PRC). The PRC is a newly-funded research center that aims to reduce the health effects of extreme heat in Imperial County communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer programs, staff, and budget development and management
• Provide fiscal oversight and make recommendations for resource and funds allocation
• Coordinate communication and flow of information between PRC components and partners
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff
• Provide work direction to a team of research and outreach staff, students, and/or postdoctoral scholars

Qualifications:

• Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent training and relevant work experience
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in an office or administrative environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Public Health, Implementation Science, or related field
• 2+ years experience in community-partnered research/outreach with knowledge of Imperial Valley partners and stakeholders
• Experience supervising/delegating work and managing grant-funded projects
• Spanish/English bilingual
