Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at HVJ Associates. As a key member of our pavement engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting project managers and staff in the preparation of detailed calculations, performing engineering analyses, and completing field assignments.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Developing AutoCAD designs for PS&E documents
  • Conducting engineering analyses
  • Contributing to project document deliverables
  • Maintaining GIS and database systems
  • Collecting field data
  • Entering data into our systems
  • Preparing graphics to support reports and correspondence
  • Assisting in the authorization and editing of technical reports and memos
  • Participating in meetings with clients as needed

Key qualifications include:

  • BS in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with 1-2 years of experience in civil design
  • Registered Texas EIT
  • AutoCAD design skills preferred
  • Excellent written and communication skills, as well as strong math and science skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Pavement evaluation and design knowledge a plus
  • Drainage or grading design knowledge a plus
  • GIS and database knowledge a plus
  • Valid Texas driver's license and right to work documents
