Key Responsibilities:

The Assistant General Counsel for Product & Strategy – Global Identity and Cyber Protection is tasked with safeguarding the legal interests of the organization while ensuring compliance with applicable laws. This role involves providing direct legal counsel to various levels of staff and includes:

  • Leading legal counsel for the global identity theft and cyber protection sector.
  • Advising on regulatory compliance, SaaS/E-commerce, and data privacy laws impacting GICP products.
  • Drafting essential policies, agreements, and guidelines for the organization.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to develop company policies and best practices.
  • Managing legal projects, including defining scope, setting milestones, and ensuring successful implementation.
  • Providing expertise in areas such as privacy, cybersecurity, and contractual structures.
  • Assisting in marketing, product development, and vendor negotiations.
  • Negotiating data privacy agreements with a solid understanding of GDPR and CCPA.
  • Offering practical legal advice to executives while balancing business goals with legal risks.
  • Facilitating the improvement of transaction processes to enhance outcomes and speed.
  • Effectively communicating complex legal concepts to stakeholders with varying levels of legal knowledge.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements, particularly in a global SaaS context.
  • Strong presentation skills to influence key stakeholders.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts through effective negotiation.
  • Capability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Calm and decisive response to unexpected challenges.
  • Organizational skills to streamline workflows.

Preferred:

  • Experience in regulated industries.

Education:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Juris Doctorate Degree.
  • Active bar membership in Washington, DC, or the ability to obtain it.

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid position based out of our Washington, D.C. office, requiring onsite presence two days a week and remote work three days a week.
