Yellow Iron Mechanic

At Kraton, we are seeking a highly skilled Yellow Iron Mechanic to join our team. As a Yellow Iron Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all Callan owned beach equipment, ensuring optimal efficiency and safety.

• Manage and oversee the repair and maintenance program for all equipment
• Maintain all equipment in good operating condition and ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner
• Track daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports and inspections
• Maintain record of repair
• Maintain inventory of spare parts
• Requisition spare parts and supplies
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Participate in Safety and Environmental initiatives to ensure compliance with State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs

• Experience in diagnosing, cleaning, and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with Excavators, Front End Loaders, and D6T Bull Dozers
• Experience in major engine repairs, hydraulics, transmission repairs, and undercarriage replacement and repairs
• 5+ years of service and certified in Caterpillar machines or similar certifications
• Ability to comply with safety rules and regulations
• Ability to work as directed and complete tasks timely and correctly
• Ability to work away from home at remote project locations for extended durations
• Must be reliable and motivated
• Ability to obtain TWIC
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
• Competencies: stress management/composure, teamwork, results-driven

• Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation
• Ability to wear and properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit areas where it is required
• Ability to walk, step, climb, or move from one location on the job site to another, which may be of varying heights and access parameters
• Ability to stand, stoop, twist, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, climb, or sit repetitively and/or for long periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry 30lbs individually
• Ability to push and pull at peak force of 150lbs
• Ability to climb stairs and/or vertical ladders of a height of 6ft or greater
• Ability to work in confined work areas and/or elevated heights
• Ability to adapt to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid conditions, loud noises, and vibration
