The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care within a collaborative team setting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for upcoming clinic appointments by ensuring all necessary reports are ready for the Provider's review.
  • Clean and set up examination rooms prior to patient visits.
  • Room patients according to scheduling guidelines established by the Provider; obtain vital signs.
  • Document patient information, including vital signs and updates to medical history, before the Provider enters the room.
  • Collect urine and blood serum samples from patients; package and submit to the laboratory following established protocols.
  • Generate outstanding order reports for clinic follow-up.
  • Assist in preparing medication refills for the Provider.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications as requested.
  • Help maintain medical inventory and place orders for supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with patient inquiries and calls.
  • Maintain logs for medical samples.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (Preferred)
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (Highly Preferred)
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the healthcare field (Required)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must be willing to travel and rotate between various clinics as needed (Required)
