Position Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams serve as process authorities for stamping, molding, or assembly-related matters, ensuring that operations are conducted at optimal levels for quality and output. They possess expertise in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly methodologies, along with comprehensive knowledge of the relevant manufacturing processes, which may involve the enhancement and standardization of stamping, molding, assembly, or other procedures within the manufacturing setting. The Manufacturing Engineering Teams empower TE business unit facilities to achieve TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) standards, implement Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP's), and provide guidance to facilities on tool and machine duplications, corrections, and enhancements. They are responsible for designing and developing manufacturing processes and automation systems, applying these for the realization of new product developments as well as the optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also collaborate with Product Development in selecting and optimizing tools for piece part production and determining the most suitable manufacturing concepts concerning planned production volumes, quality standards, and manufacturing locations. They act as a liaison between engineering and production to ensure the manufacturability of new designs and facilitate smooth production ramp-up, as well as support research and development teams in producing sample manufacturing equipment, product samples, and prototypes.

Key Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring that high-quality products are manufactured safely and efficiently. This highly skilled individual is tasked with leveraging their knowledge, skills, and experience to manage a variety of responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities:

• Enhance tooling and implement improvements

• Review technical drawings

• Conduct daily evaluations of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and procedural standards.

• Ensure that processes operated by the manufacturing team are achieving designed efficiencies.

• Drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost using TEOA tools and principles.

• Collaborate closely with the launch organization on new product introductions.

• Facilitate effective communication with all relevant parties to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

• Assess all projects for effectiveness.

• Lead and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise, efficiently collaborating with various domestic and international suppliers.

• Maintain and/or support all related process documentation, including repair logs, manuals, drawings, and procedures.

• Assist in the development efforts for new program launches related to new products, product extensions, and equipment releases into the facilities.

• Participate in product and equipment design reviews to develop robust products and manufacturing processes.

• Prepare and obtain quotes and materials necessary for manufacturing equipment modifications or enhancements.

• Work from verbal instructions, sketches, blueprints, or other TE departmental inputs such as TEOA for process modifications or enhancements.

• Must demonstrate professionalism while interacting with all levels of associates and interface with customers as required.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Proficiency in the English language is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is necessary.

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: (subject to $124,176k - 186,264k annually, subject to change based on physical location)

• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
