Position Title: Clinical Supervisor (LMHP)

Reports To: Clinical Director

CLASS SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for conducting initial evaluations, diagnosing conditions, and offering clinical oversight to the Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) at LIGHTHOUSE THERAPEUTIC SERVICES, LLC. The Clinical Supervisor ensures the delivery of high-quality services to clients and may serve as a backup for the program director during on-call or after-hours crisis situations.

DISTINGUISHING ELEMENTS OF THE CLASS:

  • Impact: The incumbent's responsibilities include making clinical diagnoses and guiding QMHPs in maintaining safe and effective therapeutic practices.
  • Latitude: All clinical activities are conducted in accordance with a comprehensive treatment plan, program policies, and guidelines under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Responsibility for the Work of Others: The role focuses solely on clinical responsibilities without additional supervisory duties.
  • Interpersonal Contacts: Regular interaction with staff is essential for planning and delivering individualized services, along with ongoing communication with the program director regarding clinical matters.
  • Difficulty: The position requires the ability to effectively engage with diverse personality types, necessitating sound judgment and discretion.
  • Communications: The incumbent must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to maintain accurate clinical records and facilitate supervision.
  • Working Conditions: The role involves office-based supervision with the program director and staff during standard office hours.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • In-depth understanding of therapeutic interventions for individuals
  • Proficient in non-violent crisis intervention techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to treat individuals and families effectively
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Capability to build and sustain effective relationships with clients and staff
  • Expertise in teaching clinical assessments and interventions
  • Skill in evaluating the clinical competencies of Mental Health Services caseworkers

Formal Training and Work Experience:
The Clinical Supervisor must hold a valid license in the state of Virginia as an LCSW, LPC, or be in residency towards licensure, registered with the Virginia Board of Social Work or Counseling. A minimum of two years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and family dynamics is required. Compliance with VDBHDS/DMAS criteria to qualify as a LMHP/LMHP-E is essential.

Licensure Requirements:
Possession of a valid state driver's license
Completion of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training certification (within 30 days of employment)
Completion of Standard First Aid Training certification (within 30 days of employment)

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments and make clinical diagnoses
- Provide clinical supervision to caseworkers and document all supervisory activities
- Develop documentation forms for clinical training and supervision
- Collaborate with MHS caseworkers to monitor and review client progress according to established standards
- Assist QMHPs in the development and implementation of Individual Service Plans
- Review clinical files to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

This position requires the incumbent to consent to Central Registry/CPS and criminal background checks. Refusal to sign the consent forms will result in automatic retraction of the application for employment.
