Facility Systems Technician

AS A FACILITIES OPERATOR, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Overseeing all operations within the control room
    • Monitoring any system modifications and providing clear explanations for changes made
  • Tracking manufacturing and building systems, alerting facilities of any abnormal conditions, and serving as the primary responder for troubleshooting alarms (both from the control room and on-site)
  • Conducting daily inspections of operational areas to detect system irregularities such as unusual noises, temperature discrepancies, leaks, and chemical spills
  • Managing equipment during shutdowns and startups in accordance with established procedures
  • Adhering to the two-person verification protocol
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate records of daily operations, equipment status, and any deviations from standard operating conditions
  • Collaborating closely with engineers and technicians to comprehend system capabilities and the appropriate responses to malfunctions
  • Ensuring operational areas are kept in a state of readiness, cleanliness, organization, and safety
  • Participating in daily operational meetings
  • Reviewing and adhering to operational sequences, standard procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and process flow diagrams
  • Conducting formal acceptance testing on new or modified equipment and systems
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, four days a week, with availability for either morning or evening shifts
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU SHOULD HAVE:
  • Strong mechanical expertise in water cooling, exhaust systems, plant vacuum, deionized water, water treatment, wastewater management, industrial waste treatment, and compressed air systems
  • Experience with preventative maintenance at an industrial level
  • A well-rounded understanding of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems
  • Familiarity with chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, instrumentation, and PLCs
  • Knowledge of manual and SCADA operations for plant equipment
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, four days a week, with availability for either morning or evening shifts
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
