Job Title: Hardware Engineer - RF Wireless

Arlo Inc is seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer - RF Wireless to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating wireless hardware solutions for our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of wireless hardware solutions, including WiFi, IoT, and LTE technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of wireless hardware with software and system components.
  • Develop and optimize RF DVT/MTP test plans to support ODM development.
  • Design, develop, and debug MAC & PHY layer Driver and Firmware, including validation testing and optimization.
  • Work with Hardware and System teams to design, implement, and test key wireless networking features.
  • Optimize WLAN to handle packet loss due to WLAN & Non-WLAN interference due to network congestion.
  • Collaborate with Firmware, SQA, and ODM's to ensure product performance metrics are achieved, and resolve customer/ production issues quickly.
  • Host ODM and chipset vendor meetings as needed to ensure designs are able to achieve Arlo's performance & schedule requirements.
  • Perform detailed wireless system testing including low-level circuit tuning, and high-level system performance validation.
  • Provide regulatory process overview, and detailed feedback to ensure compliance for FCC, CE, IC, NCC, KCC, Japan-Radio Law, C-Tick & SRRC, and any other regulatory standards applicable to our products.
  • Chipset selection, requirements definitions, performance evaluation, and collaborative performance testing & optimization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, plus 5 years of Industry experience with emphasis in circuit level RF design and WiFi, IoT, and LTE radio performance testing.
  • 3 years of experience in the high volume, low-cost, consumer electronics industry with typical product development cycles of 6-12 months.
  • Experience in low level WiFi, IoT, and LTE RF circuit design, system integration, and testing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and understanding of the WiFi physical layer protocol behaviors & performance. Design and validation of test cases supporting 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/ah, etc.
  • Knowledge & experience designing and integrating of IoT radio circuits including Sub-GHz, Zigbee, Z-wave, Thread, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience performing RF validation testing use of standard RF/ Wireless test equipment such as R&S, Keysight, Litepoint, Aeroflex & IXIA Veriwave, Network, Spectrum, and Current Analyzers a must (parametric & signaling test cases).
  • Ability to analyze & resolve system integration issues including current consumption, desense, EMI/ spurious emissions, In-band noise, ESD, etc.
  • Experience designing & integrating antennas into small consumer electronic devices for above radio technologies a plus.
  • Ability to utilize common lab equipment including soldering stations and microscopes to perform detailed assembly & rework including SMT component replacement of components as small as 0201.
  • Familiarity with Global regulatory requirements and test methods a plus.

The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment and is expected to be between $91,900 - $144,000/year, plus equity.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including location, role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus, equity, and a full range of benefits.
