Position Overview: The Materials Supply Coordinator, also referred to as a Procurement Planner, plays a crucial role in managing the tactical replenishment of essential raw materials utilized in our production processes. This position is responsible for overseeing the replenishment planning of long-lead time materials to ensure a consistent supply while minimizing excess inventory. Additionally, the coordinator will implement and maintain Kanban systems to streamline operations. Success in this role requires a solid understanding of replenishment processes, meticulous attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. This role is part of the Procurement team and reports directly to the Procurement Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to manage long lead time raw materials, ensuring a balance between supply continuity and inventory control.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with suppliers to facilitate open communication.
  • Convey critical raw material forecasts to suppliers effectively.
  • Implement and sustain Kanban replenishment systems.
  • Monitor and publish key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to navigate supply risks.
  • Address supply challenges promptly by escalating issues as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Materials/Logistics Management, or a related technical field is preferred (advanced degrees are a plus).
  • 1-3 years of experience in planning, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving Key Performance Indicators and business objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to drive decision-making and consensus among stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP experience is advantageous).
