Resident Assistant Job Description

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team at our Cedar Creek of High Plains community. As a Resident Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the physical, personal, and emotional well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with personal care needs, including grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
  • Respond to resident requests and needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
  • Transport residents safely and assist with walking, turning, and repositioning as needed.
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Assist with meal service and encourage residents to participate in activities.
  • Listen to and understand resident concerns and report observations to the care team as needed.
  • Promote resident independence and self-care through supportive and empowering interactions.
  • Understand and respect resident Advance Directives and follow their wishes.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure seamless care and support.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of experience as a Resident Assistant or similar role preferred.
