Job Title: Anticoagulation Clinic Technician

Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing service to all patients on anticoagulant medication. The Anticoagulation Clinic Technician will perform patient visit interviews, assess patient needs, and provide education on medication interactions and diet instructions. The technician will also relay information to cardiologists and communicate with patients via phone calls.

Key Responsibilities

Perform patient visit interviews and assess patient needs
Provide education on medication interactions and diet instructions
Relay information to cardiologists
Communicate with patients via phone calls
Utilize software programs to document patient information

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
One year medical terminology experience
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with patients and staff

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual preferred
1 year clinical experience and/or Medical Assistant degree or certificate

Work Environment

This position involves working in a clinical setting with exposure to biohazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens. The technician will be required to sit for long periods and may be required to stand, walk, or lift objects up to 20 pounds.
