We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Control Operations Manager to join our team at RoadSafe Traffic Systems. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of traffic control projects across the country.
Key Responsibilities- Lead daily traffic control operations, including setting up and taking down lane closures, and redirecting traffic for workers or survey crews.
- Supervise a team of traffic control technicians and ensure they follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Assure safety on the job site and ensure all employees follow personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety requirements.
- Deliver daily toolbox talks and safety training to the team as needed.
- Manage timesheets and tickets, and ensure all project documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
- Place temporary construction signs, arrow boards, and variable message boards in work areas.
- Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
- Perform shop work, including general maintenance and repair of equipment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid driver's license is required to operate company trucks.
- A clean driving record and ability to pass a background check, including driving, are required.
- Basic reading and writing ability to comply with road signs and complete paperwork is required.
- Knowledge of federal motor carrier safety regulations is required.
- Previous experience in traffic control set-ups is required.
- Certification as a Worksite Traffic Supervisor from ATSSA is highly preferred.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds for long periods of time and knowledge of safety procedures for securing and transporting cargo is essential.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
- Must be willing to travel throughout the state as projects require, with occasional overnight stays.
- Must have some mechanical background or experience.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as project demands.
- Must be able to be on a rotating on-call schedule.
