Job Summary

Adventist Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Bakersfield, California.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate x-ray equipment to produce high-quality radiographs of designated body parts as ordered by physicians.
  • Position and instruct patients prior to examination, adjust x-ray equipment, and determine proper voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in radiological technology (preferred).
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R) certification (required).
  • Radiologic Tech (RT) license in the state of practice (required in CA and HI).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
  • Fluoroscopy license in the state of employment (preferred).
Essential Functions
  • Perform screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
  • Prepare equipment for use as needed.
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient exams.
  • Position patients for imaging exams.
  • Monitor patients and ensure safety during exams.
  • Produce diagnostic images.
  • Document exam information.
  • Report important information to the physician.
  • Verify exams on PACS.
  • Administer targeted doses of radiation to the patient's body to treat cancer or other diseases.
  • Administer trace amounts of radiopharmaceuticals to a patient to obtain functional information about organs, tissues, and bone.
  • Measure bone mineral density at a specific anatomical site.
