Boston University, a world-renowned institution of higher education, is seeking an experienced Research Grant Portfolio Manager to join our team in the School of Dental Medicine. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in grant administration and management to drive research excellence.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and organized individual to manage research applications and awards across 10 departments and two centers within the School of Dental Medicine. As a key member of our research team, you will provide pre- and post-award support for the fiscal management of assigned research grants, ensuring compliance with regulations and university policies.

Responsibilities

  • Grant Management: Oversee and manage grant accounting issues, providing timely solutions and guidance to investigators and departmental staff.
  • Pre-Award Support: Collaborate with investigators to develop and submit successful grant proposals, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and funding opportunities.
  • Post-Award Support: Provide expert financial management and oversight of awarded grants, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between researchers, departmental staff, and administrative teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration to achieve research objectives.
  • Funding Opportunities: Identify and analyze federal and non-federal programmatic initiatives and funding opportunities, advising investigators on potential sources of support.
  • Training and Development: Stay up-to-date with changing regulations, policies, and best practices in research administration, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues through training sessions and workshops.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; scientific discipline preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7 years of total work experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in budget, research administration, grant management, or grant accounting.
  • Skills: Proven track record in customer service, attention to detail, and problem-solving; exceptional organizational and prioritization skills; ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
  • Software Proficiency: Extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; comfortable working in a computer-based environment.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and educational assistance programs.
