Fiber cutters are responsible for cutting fiber to meet production schedule requirements.

Key duties include:

• Reading and understanding daily production schedules to accurately produce daily requirements.
• Learning fiber types to identify different sizes for respective styles to be cut.
• Using a tape measure to check for correct dimensions.
• Writing style numbers on labels for each completed order.
• Performing other duties as instructed.
• Properly marking and stacking fiber on buggies for maximum quantities while following safe handling procedures.
• Communicating with managers as needed on questions or problems that occur while performing the job.
• Working closely with others to maintain a team concept on a daily basis.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area while performing operations.
• Assisting others when necessary.

Requirements:

• Immediately report any work-related injury or illness.
• Keep the work area neat and free of hazards. The use of compressed air without proper safety nozzles is prohibited for clean-up.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Always ensure proper lifting techniques: avoid bending and twisting at the waist whenever possible.
• Inspect tools and protective equipment before use daily.
• Learn the hazards of the equipment and procedures used on the job.
• Report any defective, malfunctioning, or suspicious tool, machine, or protective equipment immediately.
• Participate in safety training and safety meetings.
• Report any hazards or risks related to policies or procedures.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Basic reading and writing skills are required.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate with other employees and management.
