Job Summary:

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the practice of pharmacy, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, in accordance with state and federal regulations. You will be responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and performing other Pharmacy Department duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine, and checking for possible interactions.

• Use pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in prescription processing.

• Assist in scheduling and maintaining work flow, ensuring seamless operations in the Pharmacy Department.

• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.

• Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.

• Assist in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required.

• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers and provide exceptional customer service, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience.

Requirements:

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment and prior work experience with Walgreens.

• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling and good computer skills for efficient operations.

• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control and PTCB or ExCPT certification.
