Responsibilities

The Neonatology Nurse Practitioner will:

  • Assess and manage patients utilizing advanced diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing cost-effectiveness and quality of care.
  • Accept referrals from other healthcare providers and serve as the attending physician for hospitalized patients.
  • Engage in academic activities, including medical education and research.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards required by insurance providers.
  • Participate in both inpatient and outpatient consultations, which may include on-call duties.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required prior to employment.
  • Nurse Practitioner licensure from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation required prior to employment.
  • Preferred: Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) credential.

Education:

  • Master's degree in Nursing is required.
