Job Description

Johnson Service Group is currently seeking a Card Press Assistant/Production Press Operator for a contract assignment. This position involves various shifts with competitive pay rates:

  • Day Shift
  • Second Shift with a 10% differential
  • Third Shift with a 15% differential

The Press Assistant will support the Card Press Operator throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to company standards, particularly in quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review job instructions, monitor ink, coatings, and glue levels, and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Inspect finished products for quality compliance.
  • Package products, replace paper and foil rolls, and manage dies.
  • Ensure proper press registration and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Assist the card pressman, supervisor, or manager with additional tasks as required.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to follow basic verbal instructions.
  • Fundamental understanding of the flexographic printing process, including the application of adhesives, coatings, and substrate lamination.
  • Steel toe footwear is mandatory.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Working Conditions:

  • Effective communication skills (speaking and listening).
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to repetitively lift 25 to 35 lbs.
  • Experience moving rolls of materials weighing between 400 to 1000 lbs.
  • Proficient in using mechanical or powered equipment for moving heavy skids (up to 2,500 lbs).
  • Work environment is within a warehouse setting.
