Surgical Circulator Nurse

Williamson Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse Circulator to join our surgical team. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:- Plan, implement, and evaluate surgical patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop and maintain a sterile field, ensuring aseptic practice in all situations.
- Anticipate and provide equipment and supplies in a timely manner, based on the needs of the patient and surgeon.
- Perform counts, initiate corrective action when counts are incorrect, and communicate/document results.
- Monitor and control the OR Suite environment, maintaining temperature, humidity, and sensory levels.
- Handle, transport, store, prepare, and administer medications and solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Facilitate staff development, assist with the orientation and training of new personnel, and participate in the development of educational programs for co-workers.
- Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
- Previous surgery experience.
- BLS within 90 days of hire.
The surgical unit at Williamson Medical Center is a fast-paced environment with a patient population ranging from less than one year of age to ninety-nine plus years of age. As a Registered Nurse Circulator, you will be required to work well under pressure, function independently, and be flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to a variety of settings.
Physical Effort:This role requires prolonged standing and working for up to twelve hours a day. You will be required to push/pull objects up to 175 lbs, lift and turn patients with assistance up to 250 lbs, and communicate in English orally and in writing.
Performance Standards:As a Registered Nurse Circulator, you will be expected to perform a comprehensive assessment on all patients, develop age-specific plans of care, and communicate nursing plans to the healthcare team. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and monitoring and controlling the OR Suite environment.
