Position Overview
The Zoning Analyst I plays a vital role within the Zoning department. This position involves collaborating with municipal employees nationwide to verify zoning classifications, jurisdictions, and compliance. The role demands exceptional multi-tasking abilities, organizational skills, and a capacity to maintain effective communication with municipal contacts. Critical thinking skills are essential for the preparation of Zoning Compliance Reports, as well as for engaging with a diverse range of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct various types of zoning reports, including standard zoning reports, renewal reports, and document retrievals.
- Extract and review zoning codes from public databases.
- Communicate with municipal zoning departments via phone and email to confirm property statuses.
- Examine municipal documents for accuracy and completeness regarding the property in question.
- Prepare 5 Zoning Compliance Reports weekly by assessing property conformity.
- Monitor results and respond to client inquiries within our proprietary system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with effective presentation abilities.
- Problem-solving skills commensurate with the responsibilities of the role.
- Self-motivated with a solutions-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in commercial real estate or zoning analysis is advantageous.
