Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Anesthesia Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of the anesthesia care team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Assist anesthesiologists with the setup and maintenance of anesthesia equipment, including non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, induction of anesthesia, and fiberoptic intubation.
  • Patient Care: Provide patient care activities, including positioning, preparation, and monitoring of patients during surgical procedures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checkout and upkeep of anesthesia equipment, inspect for damages, and send for repair or troubleshoot as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of disposable and non-disposable equipment, including supplies and initiate replacement using established contract vendors.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Communication: Utilize effective communication strategies to ensure seamless collaboration with the anesthesia care team and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited program in Anesthesia Technology with an AS degree or certified by the American Society of Technologists and Technicians (ASATT), as a Technologist.
  • License/Certification: I.V. Certification or Anesthesia Technician Certificate from American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians.
  • Skills: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, and keyboarding skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 45 lbs of equipment from an overhead position on a daily basis, push/pull up to 500 lbs, and stand or walk continuously.
