Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sonographer to join our team at the Breast Center. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology. Your expertise will play a critical role in helping our patients receive accurate diagnoses and effective treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients, including breast imaging, to produce high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment, including adjusting settings and calibrating the machine to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, examination results, and any follow-up actions required.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Joint Review Committee-approved Radiologic Technology and/or Sonography program or equivalent.
  • Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (S) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (CCI) status within two (2) years of hire or registry eligible.
  • Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted, several times per day, and to move, lift, or position patients as required.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to radiation and the need to wear lead aprons for extended periods. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
