Job Summary
The Bonham Chrysler Apprentice Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance on several brand vehicles as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an Apprentice Service Technician. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including:
- Performing work as outlined on repair orders with accuracy
- Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repairs
- Saving and tagging parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer
- Examining the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is recommended
- Notifying the service advisor if additional work outlined is needed or recommended
- Notifying the service advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised
- Documenting work performed
- Road-testing vehicles when required
- Utilizing the knowledge of your Mentor, Team Leader, or Shop Foreman when necessary
- Attending factory-sponsored training classes
- Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins
- Ensuring that customers' cars are kept clean
- FOLLOWING ALL COMPANY SAFETY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, REPORTING ANY ACCIDENTS TO A MANAGER OR SUPERVISOR
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or the equivalent
- Successful graduation from a recognized automotive technical training school
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Authorization to work in the USA
- The ability to perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner
- The ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, and a drug test
