Job Title: Project Engineer

At The Breeden Company, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, the Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day coordination and management of on-site project administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage on-site project administration activities, including maintaining project progress schedules, coordinating material deliveries, and preparing material takeoffs.
  • Communicate daily with the Lead Superintendent/Superintendent on project activities, issues, and progress.
  • Assist with documenting daily construction activities via field reports and uploading them to the Project Manager folder.
  • Work with the Lead Superintendent/Superintendent to ensure project costs, schedule, and quality are maintained at all times.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and enforcing job site safety and security measures, including weekly safety compliance inspections and safety talks at production meetings.
  • Coordinate temporary facilities for the project, including dumpsters, portable restrooms, construction trailers, and generators.
  • Problem-solve and handle conflict resolution related to field activities, initiating corrective action as warranted to achieve project expectations and goals.
  • Assist the Lead Superintendent/Superintendent in maintaining project records, including current plans, specifications, submittals, construction change directives, change orders, and closeout documentation.
  • Oversee and track the warranty service process during and after project completion.
  • Actively share knowledge and lessons learned from project experience.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of multi-family field management experience.
  • Exceptional ability to read, analyze, and understand design documents, blueprints, and Microsoft Project Schedules.
  • Experience organizing, filing, creating spreadsheets, and mathematical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and a safety-conscious individual.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Detail and deadline-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and communication skills.
Interaction with Other Employees and the Public:

The position requires extensive interaction with subcontractors, vendors, design consultants, local officials, and operations personnel. The employee must have the ability to both give and receive direction. The employee is a key representative of the company and is expected to work well with others and exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.

Physical Demands:

The majority of the required work will be performed in the field. At times, the working conditions may be challenging and involve wide variations in weather and physical environment. The employee may be exposed to wet, cold, hot, and noisy conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extensive walking, climbing, sitting, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

Other:

The position requires daily travel to and from project sites. A valid driver's license is required.
