Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues. You will work independently to ensure that all testing is performed in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures, FDA, CAP, OSHA, CUA, and Joint Commission regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues
  • Work independently to ensure that all testing is performed in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures, FDA, CAP, OSHA, CUA, and Joint Commission regulations and guidelines
  • Use test results in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease
  • Meet minimum qualification requirements, including an associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science
  • Obtain MLT (ASCP) or AMT certification within 6 months of hire
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science
  • Eligible to take the ASCP Board of Review exam for Medical Laboratory Technician
  • MLT (ASCP) or AMT certification within 6 months of hire
